LIBERTY Speciality Steels has recently relaunched its social Community Engagement Programme. Read more about its initiatives.
School Engagement
We work closely with young people in schools, colleges, and universities to boost our brand’s profile and attract and retain young talent. The Industrial Cadet program, supported by the GFG Foundation, plays a key role in engaging students from primary to A-level. The Engineering Development Trust (EDT) helps us identify schools for engagement activities, and we encourage our employees to serve as mentors, enlightening students about career prospects in the steel industry.
Ambassador Awards
We recognise and support employees who hold significant roles in community projects or organisations through Ambassador Awards. To qualify, these projects must benefit the local community, and the award winner must have been working in an official capacity for the organisation. Additionally, the projects must have a positive impact on more than one person. Awards available are to the value of £300.
We’ve recently approved applications from Ryan Jones (TCM) and Nick Moorhouse (AMC), who aim to support their local children’s football club and provide winter coats for children.
Supporting Employees: Sponsorship
The company will support individual permanent employees with their fundraising. They can apply for sponsorship up to the value of £50 to assist with organised events like sponsored runs, skydives, midnight walks, etc., as long as these events have an impact on more than one person. Employees are limited to a maximum of two awards within a 12-month period and are required to complete a brief application form.
Community Partnerships
We are renewing our community partnership strategy, which was initiated several years ago. This focused approach enables us to develop more proactive and closer relationships with selected community projects. It also raises the brand’s profile and awareness. These community groups are typically those we’ve collaborated with in recent years, spread across the locations of Speciality Steels’ sites, encompassing health, sports, and youth initiatives.
