LIBERTY Galati steel, part of the new railway route connecting the North Station to Otopeni Airport
LIBERTY Galați, in a partnership with Arcada Company Galați, has delivered the heavy plates necessary for the new railroad connecting Bucharest’s main railway station to Otopeni Airport.
The railroad bridge, which has been built with the heavy plate provided by the Steel Plant in Galati, is over 1,500 metres long and crosses over the National Roadway no. 1 before reaching the new passenger station at the Arrivals Terminal of “Henri Coandă” Otopeni airport.
This collaboration has a special significance both at local level, because it is the result of a partnership between two companies in Galaţi, and at national level, because it helps achieve the extremely necessary objective of streamlining the traffic between Bucharest and Otopeni.
“We are delighted with the role we were given in this project and at the same time, proud of the fact that we have successfully contributed to the modernization of the national infrastructure. I am positive that there will be other infrastructure projects which will allow us to prove our efforts and experience”, Bogdan Grecu, C.E.O. of LIBERTY Galati, stated.
This is not the first cooperation in terms of infrastructure projects between the two Galaţi companies as Arcada Company is a traditional partner of LIBERTY Galati on this market segment.
According to the Romanian National Railway Infrastructure, the line is now 100% completed. The Gara de Nord – Otopeni Airport route is expected to be operational this month.
The heavy plate produced in Galați has been used in many other major infrastructure projects, including the structure of the Bridge over Danube (1,975 metres) in Brăila, which is underway at the moment.
One of the new directions approached by LIBERTY Galați was the increased focus on infrastructure projects, being addressed and monitored with the help of a dedicated sales team, so that the Romanian steel can be found in as many objectives built at local and national level.
