SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
HEAD OF PURCHASING

As the Head of Purchasing for our Galati location, you will be responsible for
leading, managing, and developing the purchasing team to ensure efficient distribution of work, optimization of resources, and the successful implementation of procurement strategies. This role involves playing a role in driving cost-saving opportunities, streamlining procurement policies and processes, and aligning with the One Europe Strategy for standardization and collaboration. You will be at the forefront of vendor relationship management, cross-functional collaboration, risk mitigation, and ensuring compliance. Your contributions will directly impact the organization’s success in Galati and the broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Management:
• Lead, manage, and develop the purchasing team to ensure efficient workload distribution
according to business requirements.
• Optimize the workload of all purchasing department members to maximize resource
utilization and productivity.
2. Local Contract Lead:
• Review, negotiate, and approve local purchasing contracts, focusing on cost-saving
opportunities to reduce the total cost of ownership.
3. Purchasing Process and Policies:
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to update and streamline current procurement
policies, including Delegation of Authority (DOA) and approval matrix.
4. One Europe Strategy:
• Act as the focal point to drive the One Europe Strategy, including:
• Standardization of processes, procedures, tools, and systems.
• Support for centralized category management teams.
• Identification of synergies across plants.
• Enhancing transparency and collaboration with other plant procurement teams.
5. Implementation of E-Auction:
• Lead the E-auction initiative for Galati to ensure its successful implementation, resulting in
cost savings and improved vendor relationships.
6. Management Committee:
• Represent the procurement department in the Management Committee for contract
discussions and local procurement-related matters.
7. Vendor Relationship:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key local suppliers.
• Lead negotiations with key suppliers and act as the central point of contact for vendor-related
issues.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with other departments, including operations, finance, and sales, to align
purchasing activities with overall business goals and foster a collaborative environment.
9. Risk Management and Compliance:
• Analyze market trends and industry developments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Ensure strict adherence to compliance policies and plans, minimizing legal and regulatory
risks.
10. Reporting:
• Regularly report to senior management on purchasing activities, performance, risk
assessments, and opportunities, providing data-driven insights for informed decision-making.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s degree/ MCIPS or equivalent Procurement & Supply Chain certification
preferred)
• Proven experience in procurement/ supply chain management, with at least 7 years in
leadership roles.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
• Understanding of risk management and compliance principles.
• Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong business acumen and a results-oriented mindset.

Job description:

Customer orientation:

  • Responsible for the relationship with the clients in the portfolio and the degree of satisfaction
  • Guides clients on offers, contracts and working capital requirements; monitors action plans related to them.
  • Organizes proximity events and customer training.

Operational:

  • Implements priorities, manages the client portfolio.
  • Coordinates the offer in accordance with the company’s strategy and optimizes profitability.
  • Coordinates actions between different entities and guides customer to achieve sales objectives.
  • Formalizes trade agreements with the client, draws up and implements contracts.
  • Make the visit plan, prepare visit reports for each meeting with the client.
  • Assess the receivables on the commercial impact and ensure that subsequent actions are monitored.

Strategy and Marketing

  • Proposes new business opportunities in line with medium- and long-term sales objectives.
  • Review and optimize the order book according to strategic requirements.
  • Contributes to the multi-annual plan at sector level.
  • Contribute to the marketing plan.
  • Get feedback on market trends, creates a reasoned vision, and communicates properly in the internal organization.

Participates in defining and promoting new products and technologies for the customer.

Performance management:

  • Keep track of the offers / contracts corresponding to each client and make the necessary updates by proposing alternative plans to reach the target.
  • Monitors working capital (stocks and delays) and comply with payment terms policies.
  • Prepares the annual budget based on the long-term strategic plan and perform monthly / quarterly monitoring.
