LIBERTY Galati launches the registration for a new edition of the Summer School
In April, the GREENSTEEL Academy of LIBERTY Galati opens the registration for its Summer School, the main internship program run by the company. Now in its 13th edition, the program aims to recruit up to 40 students and graduates who will intern at the business from July 10 to September 18.
Held this year under the Change Makers brand, the Summer School is aimed at young people who want to get involved in the company’s sustainable transformation, take a first step in their career and learn about the steel industry. Launched in 2012, the Summer School has so far offered hands-on learning opportunities to over 500 students from Galati, Iasi, Roman, Craiova and Bucharest. More than 160 of them have gone on to become employees at LIBERTY Galați.
“We need people, innovation and investment to make LIBERTY Galati’s steel production carbon neutral by 2030. People are essential in this process, that’s why we invest in their present and future through programmes like the Summer School and GREENSTEEL Academy. The problems we need to solve are complex and the solution requires a holistic approach. Pollution, climate change and the quality of the environment around us depend on the global transformation of the steel industry, which is responsible for around 8% of total CO2 emissions, while economic and infrastructure development depends on the growth of steel production, which is expected to double by 2030. Our solution is GREENSTEEL, which is why we invite specialists and young people passionate about sustainability to help us find innovative new solutions for efficiency and carbon reduction through this program that offers two months of real experiences in a company of strategic importance for the community of Galati and the Romanian economy” said Radu Ionescu, General Manager, LIBERTY Galati.
In April 2024, the company is recruiting students and recent graduates for positions and majors in electrical engineering, metallurgical engineering, mechanical engineering, automation, electrical, sales and marketing. Young people will have the opportunity to get involved in the company’s operations, learn about the steel industry and GREENSTEEL’s transformation plans at LIBERTY Galati. Together with mentors, interns will also have the opportunity to work on concrete projects with practical applications in a challenging environment, as well as to participate in specially designed courses designed to develop new skills such as communication, analytical thinking and teamwork.
Applicants can access the available positions on the company’s website: https://libertysteelgroup.com/ro/cariere/internship/ and send their CV and letter of intent to: cariere.galati@libertysteelgroup.com until 30 April 2024.
