GFG Foundation and LIBERTY Galați support the third class of their dual learning programme
The GFG Foundation and LIBERTY Galați has launched the third edition of its dual learning programme based on STEM subjects, with a new class of 24 students who can enroll at the “Paul Dimo” Technological High School. The programme, supported by the GFG Foundation and LIBERTY Galați, will now be supporting 67 students across the 9th, 10th and 11th grades.
The dual learning programme provides a curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge taught by teachers with practical activities carried out with the help of LIBERTY Galați mentors, and in addition offers a UK accredited qualification. For the third consecutive year, students enrolling in the dual learning class at “Paul Dimo” Technological High School will be supported by the GFG Foundation with monthly scholarships, benefits and personalized educational programmes and will have the opportunity to study in a specially equipped workshop with work and protective equipment.
Georgina Crumpton, General Manager of the GFG Alliance and the GFG Foundation, said, “The GFG Foundation and LIBERTY Galați teams, together with Paul Dimo High School and Rewise Learning, have worked hard to create a comprehensive dual learning programme through which students have access to the latest educational methods and professional development opportunities for the future. We are now ready to expand this programme with a new class dedicated to future electricians, extending this important programme for the young people in our local community into its third year.”
“We are happy to welcome a new cohort of students into our carefully designed programme. We offer scholarships, training with mentors from LIBERTY Galați and personal development opportunities. So far, the students that already joined the programme are excited about the curriculum and we are confident we’ll be offering a high-quality educational programme for the new class” added Irina Poeană-Radu, Culture and Performance Manager, LIBERTY Galați.
As part of the programme, the new 24 students will have the opportunity to develop their technical skills, learn STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), and develop communication, self-confidence and interpersonal skills. The students will also be part of a personalized educational programme offered by Rewise Learning, an award-winning UK-based education service provider.
About the experience the programme offers, Denis Ahrițculesei, a student of the first series, declared: “This unique programme in Galati helps me to get to know myself better, to communicate with colleagues and close ones, to get out of my comfort zone and to take on challenges. This is preparing me for success and adult life. All this is included in interesting and fun activities, which will develop you”.
The GFG Foundation’s dual learning programme started in September 2022 at the “Paul Dimo” Technological High School with a class of 21 students and continued in 2023 with 22 more students. With the new class formed this year, the GFG Foundation and LIBERTY Galați will be providing development opportunities to 67 students across the 9th, 10th and 11th grades.
