LIBERTY Galati and GFG Foundation launch a new dual learning class at “Paul Dimo” Technological High School

GFG Foundation and LIBERTY Galați, together with Rewise Learning, continue the STEM-based learning programme at the “Paul Dimo” Technological High School with a new class of twenty students for the 2023-2024 scholar year. The 8th grade students can enroll in the dual learning programme by filling the code 567 on the registration form between 3 – 7 July.

The learning programme, which also provides a UK-accredited qualification, focuses on developing essential life skills to prepare students for employment after school. This year another twenty students will be supported by LIBERTY Galati and the GFG Foundation with monthly scholarships and bespoke education programmes, having the opportunity to study in a specially prepared workshop with work and protective equipment.

The programme started in the 2022-2023 academic year as a pilot project for a 9th grade class at the “Paul Dimo” Technological High School, with the 21 students enrolled benefiting from a curriculum that combined theoretical knowledge delivered by teachers and practical activities carried out with the help of LIBERTY Galați mentors. The students benefited from monthly scholarships, food support and gifts, personal skills development events and enjoyable extra-curricular activities.

Georgina Crumpton, General Manager GFG Alliance & GFG Foundation, said: “We are happy to announce that we are launching a new class for the dual learning programme at Paul Dimo Technological High School, part of our efforts to be involved in the education of the new generations who will help us and our communities become greener and cleaner places to live. Students who opt for this class will benefit from theoretical knowledge, especially in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) fields, and also from practical activities to prepare them for the ever evolving industrial jobs market. I am very proud of the progress we have made within this programme, which currently offers great development opportunities to more than 40 students in Galati.

Founded in the UK in 2017 and launched in Romania in the summer of 2021, the GFG Foundation works with educational partners to help thousands of young people through STEM programmes to develop their entrepreneurial skills and to inspire them by introducing them to opportunities in their communities.

GFG Foundations’ partnership with Rewise Learning started in 2017 when the organisation designed a bespoke education programme – Geared Up for STEM – to promote and inspire STEM learning for young people throughout Newport, South Wales. Rewise Learning is an award-winning UK creative learning and e-learning provider, delivering educational services such as education projects, learning resources, and learning courses.
