Support for Galati Medical System from the Steel Plant and its Steelworkers

LIBERTY Galati and the steelworkers contribute, through a complex set of measures and initiatives, to support the local medical system, the community and the authorities, in the context of preventing the infection with the new coronavirus.

“For us, the priority is the care of our colleagues, families, people of Galati, and for a complete safe operation of our complex equipment we work with”, said Bogdan Grecu, Chief Executive Officer of LIBERTY Galati.

The steel plant bought for the Emergency County Hospital a state-of-the-art  video – laryngoscope that allows not only accurate visualization of the respiratory system, but also the suction of mucosal accumulated in the lungs, a very common situation for patients in serious condition, as a result of infection with the new coronavirus. The equipment will be delivered on Wednesday and will be accompanied by a training programme for the personnel who will use it.

Also, the Ambulance Station of Galati will receive modern disinfection systems for cars carrying patients.

LIBERTY Galati has already sent from its own reserves, different volumes of protection coveralls, masks, protective glasses and gloves to the County Hospital, the C.F.R. Hospital, the A.F.D.J. pilots and Galati City Hall. In addition, our company has made available some accommodation facilities, which, if necessary, can be used by healthcare personnel for isolation or quarantine at the request of the authorities.

In the course of purchase and delivery is also a professional 3D printer which will be offered to University of Galati, “Dunarea de Jos”, to increase the production of visors that will be used by the medical staff.

In order to protect its employees and contractors, LIBERTY Galati has taken extensive preventive measures: mandatory and non-contact scanning of body temperature, increasing the number of buses, provision of masks for passengers, disinfections at the workplace, reorganizing activities, prohibition of travel, digitizing meetings and more.
