LIBERTY launches the GRADUATES programme
LIBERTY Steel Group is looking for the next generation of leaders and specialists by launching its first GRADUATES programme, designed for recent university graduates who want a career in the steel industry and to contribute to the company’s decarbonisation plans. Developed in Romania by the LIBERTY Galati’s GREENSTEEL Academy team, the GRADUATES programme will be launched in other European companies of LIBERSTY Steel Group, including Ostrava in Czech Republic and Czestochowa in Poland.
In our country, the 24-month programme will gather 30 recent graduates from Romanian universities and technical schools, aiming to develop them for future managerial roles within the business and encouraging them to contribute to LIBERTY Galati’s transformation to carbon neutrality by 2030. The company is inviting young graduates in the fields of Automation, IT, Electricity, Mechanics, Metallurgy and Finance to apply for the GRADUATES program at LIBERTY Galați, a key pillar of the Romanian economy and a major employer in the country. The young people, who will be employed by LIBERTY Galați, will work in a challenging environment with the company’s mentors and specialists, participate in training courses and develop essential skills to become professionals.
The Graduates program involves 24 months of learning, development, and performance, where young people will work under the guidance of LIBERTY mentors and will benefit from dedicated training programs. They will have the chance to work in several areas of the plant for an integrated understanding of the business and will benefit from international development experiences. The programme is divided into three stages: an initial six month period in which they will learn and develop their skills with LIBERTY mentors; a second six month period in which they will benefit from the support of the company’s specialists, training and practice in specific professional positions; and a final 12 month period, in which they will learn about performance management, career paths, job progress, talent management, 360 feedback and Leadership Academy courses.
Mihaela Vereș, HR Manager LIBERTY Romania, said: “We are very pleased to be launching this new graduate programme which we believe is the best in the industry, benefiting from our experience worldwide. That’s why we encourage some of the brightest and the best technical graduates to consider careers here at LIBERTY Galati. The programme created by our team in Galati offers young graduates in technical fields the chance to join one of the largest companies in the country to learn, specialise and develop their careers across our companies in Europe. I invite all graduates from fields such as Automation, IT, Electricity, Mechanics, Metallurgy and Finance to join our GREENSTEEL operations and transformation plans. This is an exciting and fascinating time to join the steel industry as we look to transform ourselves to carbon neutrality through the use of innovative technology, renewable energy and new forms of power, such as Hydrogen. We are very excited to welcome a new generation of leaders who can contribute with innovative ideas and solutions to solve real problems as the industry transform to a low carbon future. Join us and help build a cleaner, greener future for steel!”
LIBERTY Steel Group is committed to the education of new generations to create future leaders and specialists in the steel industry. This year, LIBERTY Galati’s GREENSTEEL Academy has launched the registration for the Summer School, one of the most important internship programs started by the company. The Summer School, now in its twelfth edition, is dedicated to students and graduates who, for two and a half months, want to be involved in steel operations, learn about the company and its GREENSTEEL transformation plans.
Also, in efforts to upskill the company’s current workforce and encourage access for new employees to the industry, LIBERTY Galati has launched the “Discover GREENSTEEL” course, which will continue this fall with a new group of students interested in discovering the technologies of the future in green steel production at “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galati.
Apply by 1st of September 2023 at GRADUATES Programme – LIBERTY Steel Romania (libertysteelgroup.com) and become the next industry leader and specialist. Join us to build the future of steel!
