GFG Foundation and LIBERTY Galati proud to support a second dual learning class

GFG Foundation and LIBERTY Galati joined the students of the GFG Foundation programme at the official opening of the school year 2023-24 to celebrate the continuation of their STEM-based dual learning programme at the “Paul Dimo” Technological High School, and to welcome the second class of electricians, doubling the size of the programme.

The GFG Foundation student programme, which also provides a UK-accredited qualification, focuses on developing essential life skills to prepare students for employment after school. This year another twenty two students will be supported by LIBERTY Galati and the GFG Foundation providing monthly scholarships and bespoke educational programmes, giving them the opportunity to study in a specially prepared workshop with work and protective equipment.

The dual education programme combines the teaching of theoretical knowledge by teachers with practical activities carried out with the help of LIBERTY Galati mentors. The students will have the opportunity to develop their technical skills as well as a variety of interpersonal skills such as communication, confidence, and teamwork. Students will also take part in a bespoke education programme delivered by Rewise Learning, an award-winning education provider based in the United Kingdom. All these parts of the programme will help the students prepare for adult life.

The GFG Foundation student programme started in September 2022 as a pilot project for a 9th grade class at the “Paul Dimo” Technological High School. This year, the GFG Foundation and LIBERTY Galati will offer development opportunities to more than 40 students from 9th and 10th grade in the dual learning programme.

Georgina Crumpton, General Manager of the GFG Alliance and the GFG Foundation, said, “I am delighted to welcome the next group of students to the Paul Dimo Technological High School and wish them all the best in the new school year. Over 40 students in grades 9 and 10 will benefit from gaining practical experience and theoretical knowledge, especially in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), as well as hands-on activities that will prepare them for a profession in an industry that is constantly evolving. I am confident of the continued success of the GFG Foundation student programme and our long-term collaboration with our partners. We are committed to investing in our future generations for the benefit of our local community.”

Founded by Sanjeev Gupta and his wife Nicola, the GFG Foundation is a charity that aims to develop education programmes that give young people an insight into industry through real-world experiences, whilst developing their confidence, communication, and interpersonal skills. Founded in the UK in 2017 and launched in Romania in the summer of 2021, the GFG Foundation works with educational partners to help thousands of young people through STEM programmes to develop their entrepreneurial skills and to inspire them by introducing them to opportunities in their communities.

GFG Foundations’ partnership with Rewise Learning started in 2017 when the organisation designed a bespoke education programme – Geared Up for STEM – to promote and inspire STEM learning for young people throughout Newport, South Wales. Rewise Learning is an award-winning UK creative learning and e-learning provider, delivering educational services such as education projects, learning resources, and learning courses.
