45 Students Have Graduated the Ninth Edition of LIBERTY Galați Summer School
45 students from Galați, Bucharest, Brașov, Iași, Constanța, Craiova and Cluj universities have successfully completed the ninth edition of the LIBERTY Galați Summer School.
For 10 weeks, the students were full-time employees at Romani’s largest steelworks and worked with mentors (specialists from the plant) on real projects, applicable to all areas of the plant’s activity, in order to understand current industrial realities and to contribute with innovative solutions to solving problems.
The steelwork’s is now in the process of offering scholarships to 12 of the students who took part in this year’s Summer School.
“I congratulate you on giving us your trust and for having the courage to go through this program, especially in this difficult period we are going through. I am sure that the experience gained during this program will help you in the future, whether at this faculty or in future jobs. I urge you to be both ambassadors of this program and ambassadors of the steel industry, which is in a complex process of transformation and development. Your ideas, innovation, energy and pro-activity can help us keep up with current trends”, said Bogdan Grecu, the Chief Executive Officer of LIBERTY Galați.
“The opportunity to experiment in a workplace, during the student years, is the missing element in the current education system. We have succeeded, for almost a decade, in supporting students with a program updated to their needs, where they can contribute with ideas, observe the organization and management practice and – most importantly – they can participate in professional and personal development training. I wish you the best of luck in your future projects!”, said Mihaela Crăciun, Human Resources Director of LIBERTY Galați.
Since the beginning of the program in 2011, over 390 students have graduated the plant’s Summer School.
The Summer School 2020 was carried out in strict observance with the internal regulations to prevent Covid-19 infection spreading. Therefore, some activities have been held online.
