Tradesperson Mechanical (Whyalla, SA, AU)
About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to work within our Ardrossan Dolomite Operation in Ardrossan, South Australia.
This is a full-time position working a Monday to Friday roster with an exciting opportunity for you to work in a team that is passionate about achieving targeted outcomes for the business.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Conduct work in a safe, professional and timely manner following all SIMEC GFG’s standards and procedures
- Perform planned and corrective maintenance on fixed crushing and screening plant, mobile surface mining equipment and fabrication where required
- Work effectively within a team environment and independently
- Demonstrate ability for identifying continuous improvement opportunities with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems
- May also include heavy lifting, manual work, equipment movements and willingness to participate with competency-based training requirements
About your experience
If you are interested in joining our business, you will possess these qualities and essential key criteria:
Have current trade qualifications and experience within a mining environment or similar industry
- ESSENTIAL – Cert IV Mech Eng – Fitter Trade Certificate
- Previous experience in similar roles in heavy industry or manufacturing experience would be desirable
- Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Working at Heights, and Confined Space tickets are desirable
- Experience with conveyor belts, bearings, gear boxes, large rotating equipment, lubrication, alignment and fitting would be advantageous.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet plant production targets.
- The ability to live locally or within a close radius of Ardrossan
- High risk work licence for EWP, HR Licence, crane and forklift are highly regarded
