Deputy (Tahmoor, NSW, AU)
About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Deputy to join our underground coal mine team and drive success through our Tahmoor South Domain. Reporting to the Production Superintendent, you will demonstrate initiative, leadership and authority for your team to achieve planned production targets and the highest level of safety performance. We are a 24-hour operation with Day shift, Afternoon shift, Night shift across a 4-day mid-week roster and Weekend Day shift, Weekend Night Shift. Across a 3-day weekend roster.
Responsibilities include:

Execute the daily mine plan and drive performance to achieve shift targe
-
Contribute to the planning and allocation of resources within your designated area

Complete daily shift reports to detail operational activities
-
Maintain statutory competency in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Regulations
-
Drive safety culture and compliance through the implementation and directive of safety initiatives and action plans
-
Manage your team through leading by example and insisting on the highest levels of standards
-
Work as part of a team to continually implement business improvement opportunities.
About your experience
You are a results focused individual who is experienced in leading a team with teamwork at forefront. With a strong focus on safety and quality, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both peers and supervisors. This role requires someone with strong planning and organisational skills with the ability adapt to changing circumstances while diagnosing issues and recommending actions plans.
You will also have:

NSW Deputy Certificate of Competency and NSW Deputy Practicing Certificate along with complaint Maintenance of Competence

Experience in the coal mining industry and particularly the underground environment
-
Thorough understanding of the NSW Coal Mining statutory and legislative obligations
-
Sound knowledge of the WHS legislative requirements and familiarity with mining safety management systems

You will be safety conscious with high attentiveness to the hazards and risks within the underground coal mining environment.

Our Tahmoor Colliery in New South Wales, is an underground longwall coal mine with an associated coal preparation plant, producing high quality coking coal for global markets. Located in the scenic Southern Highlands region, only a 45-minute drive to the idyllic beaches of the South Coast and 75km south west of Sydney.
