Credit Risk Officer (St Marys, NSW, AU)

About the role

Reporting into the National Credit Risk Manager, this role is responsible for critical analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data in the process of assessing the credit worthiness of both new and existing account customers.

The position will be the local point of contact for reviewing credit limit changes, identifying high-risk accounts, preparing reports for management, and managing the internal controls of aging reviews.
 

The primary responsibility of the Credit Risk Officer is to provide insightful, relevant, succinct, and timely  credit analysis including recommendations to the credit Risk manager with a view to minimize credit losses and promote business development.

 

  • Analyse credit terms and limits, and determine credit risk and worthiness for potential, new and existing customers.
  • Partner with business to develop diligence questions by reviewing contracts, forecasts/budgets, financial statements, construction reports, operating reports, order books etc.
  • Ensure compliance with InfraBuild credit policy and procedures to ensure that any credit limit breaches are authorized at the correct approval level
  • Identify & support the implementation of process improvement projects within the scope of the analyst role as well as the wider Credit function.
  • Staying current on all aspects of assigned clients, including industry trends, portfolio performance, current events and news, potential risks, etc.

About your experience

You are a leader who thrives in a culture of knowledge sharing & cross functional training; a self – starter, with the ability to work independently whilst being able to work effectively in a team environment.

The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate;

  • A degree in Risk/Commerce/ Finance/ Business or related preferred
  • Exceptional commercial acumen to balance risks and opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex situations, identify potential risks, and develop effective strategies.
  • Remarkable interpersonal skills to build rapport and influence change.
  • Solid communication skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and organized manner.
  • Strong financial interpretation skills and familiarity with financial statements.
  • Ability to learn quickly with a high level of attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills.
