Operations Superintendent (Rooty Hill, NSW, AU)
About the role
As the Operations Superintendent, you will lead the Operations Team of Sydney Steel Mill Meltshop. You are an operational leader with strong leadership skills, a passion for people development and a proven history of building a continuous improvement culture, thus instrumental in establishing a strong safety and manufacturing excellence culture.
Your priorities include:
Acting as a coach, a mentor and a leader of the Operations team promoting a high-performance culture through collaboration, constructive feedback & clear accountability setting.

Engaging with people, establishing a transparent & engaging goal-setting process.

Fostering data driven decision-making, continuous improvement & shared best practice culture
-
Contributing to & influencing site & area based strategic P&L decisions

Empowering the team to champion a strong safety culture is paramount

Managing operation budgets
About your experience
You are a strategic leader, with solid influencing & communication skills, possessing an innovative mindset.
You are committed to developing the leaders within your team, driving a high-performance culture, prioritizing a strong safety culture in operations.

Proven people leadership skills with a transparent and collaborative approach

Heavy industry or Industrial manufacturing experience, in steel manufacturing is ideal

Excellent negotiation, cost & project management skills

Knowledge & understanding of Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing principles

InfraBuild’s Steel Manufacturing business unit operates world-class state-of-the-art Steelmaking facilities in Sydney, Newcastle & Melbourne. Operating two electric arc furnaces and four rod and bar rolling mills we use local materials to produce high quality steel products. We supply a range of products to steel distributors nationally, whilst building on our proud traditions of technical excellence and team safety.
