Mechanical Supervisor (Newcastle, NSW, AU)
About the role
Join our team as our new Mechanical Supervisor at our Mayfield site, 10 minutes drive from Newcastle City Centre. You will have the opportunity to work in a supportive and positive team environment and lead a talented team of Fitters, Mechanical Planner and lube technicians. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising the mechanical team and providing leadership and structure
- Ensuring planned tasks are done on time, within budget and to quality
- Implement strategy from a reactive to a proactive environment
- Identify areas of process improvement and champion these improvements throughout the team
- Review and improve the maintenance strategy based on plant performance and breakdowns
About your experience
The ideal candidate will have previous leadership experience, manufacturing environments and strong drive to progress their career. Ideally you will have the following:
- Qualified trade or very sound mechanical aptitude
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in manufacturing
- Team leadership experience is preferred
- Systems experience in SAP is preferred
- Experience in reliability-based maintenance work
- Exceptional time management with proven ability to meet deadlines
- Courage to challenge the status-quo and drive mechanical reliability improvements.
