Maintenance Planner (Rooty Hill, NSW, AU)

About the role

As the Maintenance Planner reporting to the Maintenance Planning Leader, you will lead maintenance planning activities, standardise and improve the planning function, systems and processes in collaboration with key stakeholders – maintenance, production, & other support teams.

 

Essential to this role is utilizing the CMMS SAP to maximize efficiencies of all resources – material & labour and the input and upkeep of the system’s (SAP) master data to enable continuous improvement of the planning function and the improvement of the interface between materials management and the preventative maintenance function.

 

Other duties will include  but not limited to:
 

  • Develop and track planning and scheduling of shutdowns, preventative & corrective maintenance activities

  • Ensure work is planned to be executed safely and to maximise the efficiencies of all resources (materials and labour, internal and external contractors).

  • Initiate the repair and/or purchase of spares & monitor inventory to maintain equipment reliability and minimise holding costs.

  • Consult, participate, mentor and train the team in continuous improvement with SAP and planning.

  • Lead & identify short to long-term improvement opportunities and build these into subsequent plans.

  • Support the planner leader to ensure that comprehensive workpacks are issued for every task

  • The input and upkeep of the SAP system PM content.

  • Monitoring and feedback to the Planning Leader on key Maintenance SAP metrics.

About your experience

The ideal candidate will have:
 

  • Safety as a core value. Understanding of legislative safety requirements (the need to provide safe systems of work)

  • Demonstrated experience working in SAP (a must), Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project (essential)

  • Maintenance Management experience in a similar or steel industry (desirable)

  • Experience managing teams, contractors & vendors

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation.

  • Demonstrated experience in Root Cause Analysis, problem solving, reliability improvement process methodology (e.g. RCM)
