HR Reward and Policy Specialist (Newcastle, NSW, AU)
About the role
Reporting to the Reward and Policy Manager, the Reward and Policy Specialist will collaborate with the business and HR teams to undertake job evaluations, annual salary reviews/ benchmarking as well as support and contribute to the annual performance and reward cycle. This role provides technical analysis of internal pay practices and market trends and develops, analyses and reviews new and existing policies.
Key responsibilities:
- Interfacing with various stakeholder and working groups.
- Assisting with reward projects, building reports and trackers.
- Responsible for confidential and sensitive remuneration and financial data.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the Company’s position description database and enquiries.
- Responsible for maintaining employee salary records and participating in system audits.
- Ensuring the Company adheres to reward and policy legislation and case law.
- Undertaking policy analysis and developing high quality written materials.
This is a maximum-term parental leave cover for a 12-month period.
About your experience
Our ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with a highly collaborative style and attention to detail who has worked in a larger organisation and understands the many moving parts that come with that.
You also have:
- Extensive experience within a fast-paced reward or generalist HR position with expertise in the development, implementation and management of a remuneration, reward and/or benefits strategy and framework.
- Experience with a HRIS or reward system coupled with advanced MS Office capability.
- Demonstrated experience with reward practices including job evaluation, benchmarking, reward and incentive frameworks and benefits programs.
- Highly developed understanding of remuneration and employment legislation, and experience with compliance obligations and policy and report development.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical, interpretive and problem-solving skills with the ability to consider business requirements when recommending solutions.
