International Women in Engineering Day
INVENTORS & INNOVATORS
Our industry is changing quickly as it gets serious about reducing the environmental impact of producing steel and aluminium. We are looking towards the future, focusing on inventors and innovators who will change our industry for the better.
With this change comes the opportunity for more women to enter a traditionally male dominated industry and take up vital roles in engineering. Figures as of June 2021 show that 16.5% of engineers are women and that they are still hugely under-represented in their professions. At LIBERTY we are proud of our female engineers who play an essential role in our industry.
We have talked to some of the great women working within LIBERTY and ALVANCE to hear about their roles in our sustainable growth journey, from a Project Engineer to a Machine Technician.
They reveal what is important to them and why they have chosen careers at LIBERTY and ALVANCE to try and encourage more young women and girls to take up engineering careers.
Read the stories below as we recognise and celebrate our female colleagues in their roles on International Women in Engineering Day. #INWED22
