HOT WORKING PROCESSES
Primary Rolling (Stocksbridge Billet Mill)
- Mill Design – 4 x reversing rolling stands
- Automated bar section gauges and pyrometry
- 19 gas fired soaking pits for heating blooms and ingots heated to required rolling temperature, precise temperature control required, temperature and time varies depending on steel grade
- Feedstock – capable of accepting a range of ingot and bloom products
- Size Range – 76-381mm Round
- Shape Range – Round, Square, Rectangle
- Optional scarfing (surface removal by high pressure oxy-propane burners for improved surface quality)
- 4 x cooling beds, slow (pit) cooling, immediate annealing capability
Secondary Rolling (Thrybergh Bar Mill – Rotherham)
- Automated bar section gauges and pyrometry
- Gas fired, walking beam reheating furnace with 3 control zones
- Feedstock – 180mm Billet
- Size Range – 22-105mm Round
