Plant 16 – Flat Products Rolling Mill manufactures and supplies flat hot rolled products for buildings and constructions in the domestic and foreign markets. Production is provided by finishing lines, which include a hot strip mill, three slitting lines and two cut-to-length lines. In addition, there are three profiling lines, three lines for mine supports cutting and bending, lines and press machines for the production of safety road barrier accessories, and a hot-dip galvanizing plant for galvanizing safety road barriers. The plant also includes a service operation for the Retail Shop with three sawmills.

The P1500 hot strip mill produces strip from structural steels, high-strength structural steel, cold forming steel, high carbon steel, steel resistant to atmosphere corrosion, steel for pressure vessel applications, micro-alloyed steel. In dimensions: thickness from 1,5 to 15 mm, width from 740 to 1535 mm with smooth surface or with oval projections (teardrop pattern).

The slitting lines produce slit coils and sheets from P1500 hot strip mill. Three slitting lines slit coils of 1.5 mm to 8 mm thickness to final strips with widths ranging from 120 mm to 1,600 mm. Two cut-to-length lines cut material of 1.5 mm to 15 mm thickness into sheets with width ranging from 600 mm to 2 000 mm and length range from 500 mm to 12 000 mm.

The Safety road barriers and Mine Supports operation manufactures road and bridge steel restraint systems NH4, AM and AAM series including hot-dip galvanizing corrosion protection at its own galvanizing plant. This plant also manufactures cold bent and split mine supports of K, TH, V section and joints S29 and KP sections.

The service operation for the Retail Shop secures sorting out and cutting of the output of the individual lines of Plant 14 Plant 16 and also for Retail Shop. At the same time, it performs the cutting of billets for – Steel plant. Its activity extends the sale and use of rolled material of individual lines of Liberty Ostrava a.s.
