New Executive Director appointed at LIBERTY Ostrava
LIBERTY Steel Group has appointed Oleksandr Ivanov the new Executive Director of LIBERTY Ostrava. Oleksandr, who will report the Board of Directors of LIBERTY Ostrava, will take on the most senior management role at the plant with immediate effect.
Oleksandr has a wealth of experience in the steel sector having had twenty years in senior positions within the industry, managing various operations as well as most recently serving as COO of Ukraine’s largest integrated steel mill at Kryvyi Rih. Oleksandr has an Engineer Degree in industrial heat and power engineering.
Paramjit Kahlon, CEO Primary Steel and Integrated Mining of LIBERTY Steel Group, said: “I am very happy to appoint Oleksandr to this important role as, having worked with him before, I know he will provide the strong leadership required to develop the LIBERTY Ostrava business further. I believe he can lead the management team and the plant’s committed employees in their continued drive to improve the plant’s production levels as well as accelerate the plant’s ambitious plans to become carbon neutral by 2030.”
Oleksandr said: “I am very excited at the opportunity ahead of us at Ostrava. I will be working with the employees, the management team and all our stakeholders to deliver our ambitious plan for the plant’s long-term sustainability, which is aligned to the GREENSTEEL and CN30 visions. I am looking forward to accelerating our efforts to commission the plant’s new hybrid furnaces and build the high voltage power line, which are a core part of our transformational investment strategy.”
