LIBERTY Ostrava will help the city to revive cultural life and leisure time activities
LIBERTY Ostrava will support culture and other leisure time activities in its neighbourhood, affected by COVID-19 measures. The cultural and other leisure time organisations and institutions saw a major drop in revenues during the pandemic crisis. Along with the city the company wants to contribute to the maintaining and developing of a wide range of activities which the city of Ostrava had offered to the public before the pandemic. The Ostrava mill has lent a helping hand, among others, to the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre, Leoš Janáček’s International Music Festival or the Ostrava’s ZOO.
LIBERTY Ostrava has cooperated with cultural organisations over the long run and has contributed to some of the favourite projects in this field. Now, the company has decided to provide an ad hoc assistance to certain projects and organizations which have been hit hard by the Covid-19 crisis.
“We realize how much the last months´ situation has affected the quality of our lives. Hence, we want to help Ostrava to revive the significant leisure time activities the way we knew them before the crisis. We are happy that we can team up with the city in these efforts and hope that our support will help get everything moving in the right direction,” said Barbora Černá-Dvořáková, who is in charge of social responsibility at LIBERTY Ostrava.
“It is great when we can see that even in these difficult times there are businesses in this region that give a helping hand to the Ostrava’s culture and other areas. It was a very difficult year for the Ostrava’s festivals and organizers. All the more we appreciate such a help and are happy that there is a wide range of businesses which demonstrate its solidarity with Ostrava in such a practical and needed way,” said Tomáš Macura, Mayor of Ostrava.
