Liberty Ostrava to offer professional training in real work environment to more than one hundred apprentices in the coming school year
Ostrava, 2 September 2019 – Ostrava steel mill, which has been known under the name of Liberty Ostrava since July, will take care of professional training and technical education in a real working environment for apprentices from several schools in the Ostrava region. Compared with last year, support to the mechanic and electrician concentration will be extended to other fields, such as metal worker, electrical mechanic or adjuster mechanic. There has been a keen interest in the combination of theoretical instruction as well as practical training under the guidance of experienced staff, as becomes evident through more than a hundred candidates enrolled for the 2019/20 school year.
“As we have a great interest in the coming generation of steelmaking specialists in the Ostrava region, we have been providing professional training for many years. Young people work here under the supervision of the best experts and they come to know the working environment as well as the company culture. Professional training is an interesting opportunity to earn extra income and we are pleased to offer jobs to skilled apprentices,” said Veronika Muroňová, Human Resources Director at Liberty Ostrava.
The regional pilot project of apprentice training containing elements of dual education, launched by the Ostrava steelmaker in collaboration with Moravian-Silesian Region and the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic before the beginning of last school year, aims to fully support education connected with professional training and help prepare a new generation of skilled workers, who have been missed all over the country in recent years.
