Liberty Ostrava steel mill donates CZK 100,000 to purchase new shower bed for patients of Ostrava Teaching Hospital
Ostrava, 26 August 2019 – the Liberty Ostrava steel mill contributed CZK 100,000 to the Teaching Hospital in Ostrava for improvement of hospital care in the region. The hospital used the money to buy a new shower bed for the Trauma Centre. This will make transportation of immobile patients into the bathing room, as well as showering or bathing easier. The shower bed will be used by 500 patients every year.
“Health of our employees has always been first. Unfortunately, no matter how hard you try, you may always come across something sudden and unexpected in your life. The Teaching Hospital in Ostrava does its best to make such times easier for its patients. That’s why we decided to take our share and help the hospital create a better environment,“ said Tomáš Telúch, Head of Final Production and member of the Board of Directors at Liberty Ostrava.
“Patients not only from the Moravian-Silesian region but also from the surrounding areas are brought to the Trauma Centre. Consider the variety of emergency cases, I am quite positive that we will use the shower bed on a daily basis. This will make the work of our staff much easier and it will also make the injured feel much more comfortable. With this bed patients will be able to leave straight for the bathroom where the necessary hygiene can be done in private,“ said Jiří Havrlant, Head of Teaching Hospital in Ostrava.
