LIBERTY Częstochowa to partner local women‘s volleyball team

LIBERTY Czestochowa Sp. z o.o. has become an official partner of its local Sport Club Częstochowianka womens‘ volleyball team. This is the first sponsorship agreement to be signed by the GREENSTEEL plant, since it was acquired by LIBERTY Steel Group earlier this year.

The agreement was signed by the club’s president Alina Dobrzanska, vice-president Robert Fras and Krishnamoorthy Venkatasubramanian, General Director of Liberty Czestochowa Sp. z o.o., who said: „ LIBERTY not only wants to be know as Poland’s main producer of GREENSTEEL but also wants to enrich and enable the social life of Czestochowa. We know that volleyball is very popular in Poland and hope that our sponsorship of our local team will help them win the league next year.“

Sport Club Częstochowianka was established in 1936 and currently, its volleyball players play in the I league and are looking to advance to the Tauron League – the highest women’s competition class in Poland. The coach of the team is the former outstanding volleyball player, Andrzej Stelmach, Olympian from Atlanta and Athens. In different age groups KS Częstochowianka trains over 200 girls.The club has a long history with the steelworks which was a main sponsor prior to 2008. In the past the company was also the owner of professional football club RKS Raków and sponsored the women’s football club UKS Gol.

Alina Dobrzanska, chairman of KS Częstochowianka, said: „We are very happy to resume cooperation with LIBERTY Czestochova. This sponsorship is a proof of kindness and trust in our club. We hope that both Częstochowianka in volleyball and Liberty Częstochowa in steel will be successful.“

In exchange for one-off financial support, the name of Liberty Częstochowa appeared on the players’ shirts and will be promoted in materials prepared by the club and in advertisements during matches played in the Częstochowa Sports Hall
