LIBERTY Częstochowa launches first Summer School for graduates

LIBERTY Częstochowa is launching its first Summer School, which it hopes will become one of the most important internship programs in the region, introducing a new generation of students to the plant as it continues its journey towards a GREENSTEEL future. The application process will run from 1 to 20 June.

The Summer School will run for two and a half months from 17 July to 22 September 2023. Final year students and recent university graduates who choose to enrol in the Summer School will be involved in the steelworks’ operations, learn about the company and its plans for GREENSTEEL transformation. The young people will have the opportunity to work in a challenging environment alongside Liberty Częstochowa’s mentors and specialists, participate in training courses and develop the communication and teamwork skills that are so necessary to become professionals.

One of the reasons the steelworks has launched its Summer School this year is because the Occupations Barometer, prepared cyclically by the District Labour Office in Częstochowa, indicates that for years there has been a shortage of workers in the metal, energy, mechanical-electrical, automation and robotics occupations. As an integral part of the city and one of the most important employers in Częstochowa and its surrounding communities, the steelworks has decided it needs to help tackle the problem.

Krishnamoorthy Venkatasubramanian, the Executive Director of LIBERTY Częstochowa, said: “Our strategy is to make our business not only the industrial heart of the Częstochowa region, but also its green and sustainable heart: giving our young people and our local community the cleaner environment they want and deserve. We are very pleased to launch the registration for the Summer School, an internship program that we hope to run every year, as we want to attract more young, intelligent and skilled people to work at our steelworks to help us become even greener. We welcome students and graduates from Częstochowa, but also from nearby counties, to join us in our activities and in our GREENSTEEL plans. We provide the ideal environment for young people to develop and take important steps in their careers and I invite as many as possible to join our family.”

Throughout the programme, students will be paid and will benefit from all the facilities of being an employee. They will also have the chance to apply for an internship programme, which will help recruit young talent for engineering positions.

Applicants can access the application form on the LIBERTY Częstochowa website here and should send their CVs to zkolenia@libertyczestochowa.pl or rekrutacja@libertyczestochowa.pl by 20 June.
