LIBERTY Speciality Steels offers hire work services across our UK sites in Stocksbridge, Brinsworth, Rotherham and Wednesbury. We have a strong heritage of providing conversion services for steel alloys, stainless steels and nickel alloys. This includes hirework remelting services, hirework rolling and hirework bright conversion with ultrasonic inspection.

ROLLING PROCESSES
Primary Rolling (Stocksbridge Billet Mill)
- Mill Design – 4 x reversing rolling stands
- Automated bar section gauges and pyrometry
- 19 gas fired soaking pits for heating blooms and ingots to the required temperature for the required time, depending on steel grade
- Feedstock – capable of accepting a range of ingot and bloom products
- Size Range – 76-381mm Round
- Shape Range – Round, Square, Rectangle
- Optional scarfing (surface removal by high pressure oxy-propane burners for improved surface quality)
- 4 x cooling beds, slow (pit) cooling, immediate annealing capability

Secondary Rolling (Thrybergh Bar Mill – Rotherham)
- Automated bar section gauges and pyrometry
- Gas fired, walking beam reheating furnace with 3 control zones
- Feedstock – 180mm Billet
- Size Range – 22-105mm Round
