Supply Chain Apprenticeship
This Supply Chain apprenticeship is within our Supply Chain function and will give individuals the opportunity to start within the company at a level which will allow development as part of the Supply Chain team.
Apply nowWhat will the apprentice be doing?
The apprentice will experience a periods of time in each section of the department to gain relevant knowledge of how the department works and the basic concepts of what business administration involves.
The apprentice would be responsible for completing several daily tasks to a specific deadline including:
- Production planning and work scheduling for steelmaking, rolling and finishing processes
- Supporting Sales and Operations Planning
- Inventory management and control
- Compilation and reporting to senior management of key business indicators
- Order Management
- Supporting the customer services team
Throughout the three-year apprenticeship you will be given opportunity to perform more tasks as and when you develop your knowledge of how the departments operate and gain more experience with the particular systems used within the company.
The apprentice will be based at the Stocksbridge site in Sheffield for most of the apprenticeship. Where it is identified that they would benefit from time spent at other facilities (such as Rotherham) this will be discussed and logistics to make this happen considered
The apprentice will be allowed day release at college for a particular course chosen by the Training Manager; this may depend on your previous qualifications.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship standard delivered both in the work place and 10 week day release at our City Campus.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon satisfactory completion of the apprenticeship there may be the opportunity of a permanent full time position.
