<h6>LIBERTY Galaţi owns and operates the private port facility Romportmet. Located at Km 157 on the left side of the Danube, Romportmet is one of the most modern river-maritime ports.</h6>
With some 2.5km of quays and multiple cranes, the port can handle a wide variety of materials including dry bulks and finished steel products. Whilst predominantly handling raw materials and finished products for the steel plant, Romportmet has significant space and capacity to handle and develop new distribution facilities for trading and industrial uses.

Romportmet’s quays can load and discharge ocean-going ships of up to 7,000 DWT plus river barges. The port is connected directly to the highway and Romanian rail network.

Romprtmet is certified by SR EN ISO 9001:2015. The ambition of the company is to maintain and develop its reputation as a high quality level provider of port services to domestic and international customers.

Employing more than 300 people, the company pays particular attention to the environment as well as the safety of its employees and contractors through its comprehensive Health and Safety Policy as well as specialist training.
