The New Energy Policy of LIBERTY Galati

The management of LIBERTY Galați has adopted an Energy Policy based on the requirements of the ISO 50.001: 2001 standard at the Energy Management System in the Plant is based on. The Policy states our commitment to abide by the obligations stipulated by the laws in the field of energy, which are in force in Romania and the European Union.

The policy also sets out specific targets of our unit, specifically:

  • improving the preservation and usage performance in terms of energy in order to reduce the plant’s greenhouse gas emissions and impact on the environment;
  • reducing the plant’s consumptions of fossil fuels, through a permanent optimization of our processes, to the lowest possible levels;
  • cutting energy costs though systematic and adequate management.

Thanks to the projects already implemented in the Plant, in line with our commitments, a 20% reduction of energy consumption has been achieved since 2012.
