Warehouse Operator (Whyalla, SA, AU)

About the role

An opportunity is available for a reliable and enthusiastic Warehousing Operator to join our Stores team at Liberty Primary Steel in Whyalla. This exciting opportunity operates on an 12 hour 5day/5 off/4 night/5 off/5 day/4 off roster pattern. 

 

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic workplace.
  • Participating in various Safety Improvement processes.
  • Working in a variety of team-based and autonomous roles
  • Receiving incoming goods, verifying incoming orders against system generated purchase orders.
  • Preparing goods for storage.
  • Putting stock away into pre-allocated storage locations or laydown areas for despatch.
  • Picking and packing stock to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate transactional records and other documentation.
  • Counting and recording stock.
  • Operating various basic and complex machinery such as counter balanced & sideloader forklifts
  • Will include heavy and repetitive lifting, manual work, and minor maintenance work
  • Participate in competency-based training requirements.
  • Data entry in to our SAP system e.g. receipting of goods, issuing of stock, conducting & entering inventory stocktakes.

About your experience

  • A current forklift licence – essential
  • Excellent fault finding and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about delivering outcomes
  • Capable of working collaboratively across the business to achieve results
  • A willingness to work hard
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to understand basic and complex documents e.g. freight con-notes, work instructions, quality documents
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • Intermediate/advanced computer skills in programs such as Microsoft Excel & Outlook as well as experience using mobile devices e.g. mobile phones and tablets.

Liberty Primary Steel, a member of GFG Alliance, operates integrated steelworks which include ironmaking, steel making, and rolling-mill facilities located in coastal Whyalla, approximately 400km from Adelaide.
