Systems Engineer (Newcastle, NSW, AU)

About the role

Contribute to the operational success of the InfraBuild Steel Manufacturing departments by supporting existing and delivering changed IT capabilities. The role will involve implementing a standard Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for use across all InfraBuild Steel Rolling Mills and subsequently through the ongoing development and support of both that MES and other shop floor systems and applications.
 

Other responsiblities include:

  • Provide 24×7 on-call support as required
  • Day-to-day system support – analysis and resolution of issues
  • Collaborate with vendor & integration partners on support and development requirements and tickets
  • Undertake testing to ensure fixes to issues satisfies acceptance criteria defined by the customer
  • Collaborate with end-user / business SME to ensure support issue is closed
  • Ensure support is provided within agreed SLA’s
  • Co-ordinate and assist with general project tasks, design, data cleansing and cutover tasks

 

About your experience

We are looking for a solution-focused individual looking to build on their experience.
 

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualified in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred
  • Previous business analysis experience in a Manufacturing Environment advantageous
  • Exposure to ERP & Industrial Automation systems in a process industry advantageous
  • Strong skills in SQL Database Development (SQL Server & Oracle)

Operating two electric arc furnaces and four rod and bar rolling mills we use local materials to produce high quality steel products.
