Surface Operations Lead (Tahmoor, NSW, AU)
About the role
Join our team as at Tahmoor Coal as a Surface Operations Coordinator today!
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and leading surface operation activities to ensure efficient planning, scheduling, supervision, and performance of resources to meet departmental objectives.
Key duties include:
- Manage and monitor tasks performed by the surface operations team
- Manage and monitor surface contractors on site
- Oversee surface logistics management
- Project manage small to medium sized projects and installations
- Lead and maintain a safe workplace by adhering to all HSEC policies and procedures
- Assist in hazard identification and reporting of incidents, accidents or near-miss events
- Participate in HSEC audits and risk assessments
- Coordinate site security, lawns and ground maintenance, plumbing services, site cleaning and other related activities
- Assist in the planning and management of major maintenance shutdowns and rectification projects
- Identify and implement initiatives to improve business processes and operations
About your experience
To be successful in this role will have prior experience within the coal mining industry and have a good understanding of the NSW Coal Mining statutory and legislative obligations.
You will also be able to demonstrate:
- A strong maintenance aptitude
- High attentiveness to changes in the workplace, and associated risks and hazards
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- An ability to focus and apply the critical aspects of management plans for the operations
- An ability to work in high pressure and ambiguous environments
- A genuine commitment to safe work practices
- An Australian recognized Mechanical Trade Certification is desirable but not essential
- Experience in UG mine operations

Located at the edge of the scenic Southern Highlands region, only a 45-minute drive to the idyllic beaches of the South Coast and 75km southwest of Sydney.
