Senior Mechanical Designer (Mayfield, NSW, AU)

About the role

Reporting to the Drafting Coordinator, the Mechanical Designer will be responsible for providing drafting services across multiple business units ensuring customer requirements are understood and cost effectively delivered while adhering to and supporting the project specific safety management plans.
 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Manage design deliverables as per customer requirements to appropriate scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements specific to mechanical drafting.
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to Autodesk Vault Professional, Inventor, AutoCAD, SAP and associated software used to organize and maintain engineering and design files.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams & stakeholders ensuring project success through being solution focused, introducing innovations in drafting & design and the effective use of Autodesk Vault Professional Software and associated systems.
  • Provide accurate, timely and effective feedback to the project engineering team, business unit and Engineering management.
  • Professionally support the project risk management activities including identification, assessment and mitigation of OHS risk.

About your experience

The Senior Mechanical Designer will have the following experience:
 

  • Supervising, Training & Leading engineering design teams in manufacturing or heavy industry.
  • Recognized qualifications in mechanical drafting experience.
  • Experience in systems management including Autodesk Vault Professional, Inventor, AutoCAD software & ability to train & support team members in their best practice usage.
  • Strong knowledge of document management systems, data management, and version control
  • Exceptional communication (written & spoken), problem solving & collaborative skills
  • Impeccable attitude towards safety and the application of company standards
