Senior Electrical Engineer (WHYALLA (SA), SA, AU)

Great opportunity for a self-motivated commercially savvy Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Principal Engineer Growth Studies and Projects you will provide technical support and governance to a portfolio of major growth studies and projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide best practice electrical engineering support and governance the portfolio of growth projects
- Developing electrical discipline technical standards and standard specifications for project applications across the portfolio
- Contribute to the development of project delivery systems to support consistent technical delivery of projects and application of standards
- Establishing and supporting the technical risk analysis and Safety in Design processes for the project portfolio.
- Auditing design work presented by vendors to ensure it meets and complies with the specified scopes outlined in the contract
- Assess design compliance with the relevant Australian Standards as well as SIMEC Mining’s engineering and quality standards
- Providing technical reviews of bids for engineering and construction services and equipment, as well as recommendations for selection
- Encourage a collaborative and high performing work culture of continuous improvement and support the delivery of strategic objectives
- Identify, adopt and support the implementation of new innovative technologies
About your experience
To be successful in this role you will be results driven and highly focuses with the ability to drive the delivery of successful outcomes.
You will also have:
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Minimum 10 plus years in mining, minerals processing metals industries
- Engineers Australia Chartered Professional Engineer
- Demonstrated knowledge of instrumentation and control systems applied to minerals and metals processes
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills
- Strong communications skills both verbal and written with the ability to work with a range of different stakeholders
- Sound knowledge of Australian standards and statutory and regulatory requirements
- Strong organizational skills and able to meet deadlines and changing priorities
