Reinspection Operator (Rooty Hill, NSW, AU)
About the role
Join the Reinspection Operator team at the Rooty Hill Steel Mill, receive training and support to learn the quality control role. The working hours are flexible from Monday to Friday and overtime opportunities of up to 16 hours/week are available too. The team is very safety focused and process driven, and will ensure you receive thorough training and guidance day to day.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assess the quality of steel bundles offline from the mill
- Learn the requirements of the end-customer and deliver to Australian and Customer standards
- Training to use measurement equipment, strapping tools, lifting equipment, forklifts
- Ensure Safe Working Practices are followed and encouraging team members to operate in a safe and healthy workspace.
- Use measuring equipment such as micrometres, digital Vernia, normal tape measures
Role Hours: Start time is 6 am and the hours are 10 hours/day for 3 days and 8 hours for 1 day per week.
About your experience
You are someone who values teamwork, safety, continuous improvement and has a strong desire to operate at a fast pace to ensure the team succeeds. You will be someone who values setting and achieving targets, providing quality outputs, working as part of a team and working safely.
- SAP or some computer literacy is advantageous
- Manufacturing or construction industry experience is ideal
- Ability to use measuring equipment
- Able to work unsupervised and take directions
- A self-starter who strives to deliver to targets
- A continuous learning and can-do mindset
- Highly quality and safety conscious and willing to learn best-in practice processes
- Keen to join a collaborative and high-performing team.

InfraBuild’s Steel Manufacturing business unit operates world-class state-of-the-art Steelmaking facilities in Sydney, Newcastle & Melbourne. Operating two electric arc furnaces and four rod and bar rolling mills we use local materials to produce high quality steel products. We supply a range of products to steel distributors nationally, whilst building on our proud traditions of technical excellence and team safety.
