Quality Assurance Officer (Newcastle, NSW, AU)
About the role
Reporting to the Quality and Compliance Manager, as Quality Assurance Officer you will manage the site Quality Management system, coordinate and supervise the efficient operation of the site laboratory, manage product compliance and certification, and promote initiatives to deliver improved quality performance.
The key responsibilities will include;
- Taking charge of site-based Quality Management, including but not limited to;
- Maintain ISO9001 accreditation for the site
- Ensure product compliance and certification
- Coordination and supervision of the laboratory activities
- Maintain safety and performance objectives as well as NATA accreditations
- Ensure that our product, meets the product quality requirements of our business and our cliental
- Provide technical support in the areas of steel sourcing, process and quality improvements.
About your experience
You are a self-motivated autonomous worker with great attention to detail. You will thrive in a team focused environment and convey exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability.
You will be a technical specialist with a background in engineering or metallurgy with an eagerness to learn tube and exposure to the following;
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering or equivalent industry experience
- 3 + years working in Steel or other Heavy manufacturing industry
- Previous experience as a Quality Assurance Officer, Quality Control Supervisor or Production/ Process/Metallurgical Engineer
- Strong understanding in quality manufacturing systems
- Effective communication and ability to maintain positive relationships
- Solid analytical skills and innovative thinker.
