Procurement Officer (Bell Bay, TAS, AU)
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic team and support our Procurement Lead in ensuring seamless procurement operations in compliance with our company’s Purchasing Procedures.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Purchasing Officer, you will play a pivotal role within our procurement function. Your responsibilities will include:
- To raise purchase orders on approved vendors for all inventory and service requirements
- Follow up all outstanding and overdue Purchase Orders to ensure their expeditious delivery to site
- Ensuring cost prices are correctly recorded in the SAP system
- Managing supplier relationships to ensure performance is in line with agreed targets
- To identify and resolve business risks by leading processes with suppliers to expedite delivery or find alternative product/supplier solutions
- Cost Savings improvements by finding ways to cut procurement costs and boost efficiency for improved results.
About your experience
We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic with experience/qualifications in a similar role:
- Demonstrated success in a similar role
- Familiarity with sectors like Mining, Minerals, or Heavy Manufacturing
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
- High attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships and solving problems.
