Payroll Officer (Adelaide, SA, AU)

About the role

Seeking to appoint a motivated Payroll Officer to support our busy function in processing the fortnightly payroll in a timely and efficient manner.

Based in our Adelaide CBD office, Newcastle or Melbourne (Sunshine) and reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, you will enjoy a flexible hybrid working arrangement. You are someone that likes to learn and grow within your role with support from an experienced collaborative team.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Daily communication with payroll stakeholders, assist with daily enquiries
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and on time
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Analyse and process timesheets for multiple locations
  • Understand taxation of employer paid benefits, Payroll Tax and PAYG
  • Managing new starters and terminations
  • Generating fortnightly and monthly financial reporting
  • Leave Processing/Deductions/Allowances/Bonus/Choice of Super
  • Building and fostering strong relationships across the business.

 

About your experience

We are looking for a proactive individual with strong attention to detail and people skills.  You will be solutions focused and enjoy problem solving. We are looking for an individual who can bring lots of energy and will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. To be successfully considered for this role, you will demonstrate the following experience:
 

  • Previous experience in payroll processing
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, awards and ability to interpret EBAs
  • Proficiency with SAP
  • Intermediate experience in Excel and able to generate financial reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication
  • High level of professionalism, dealing with sensitive, confidential documents and personal information
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and ability to uphold compliance standards.
