Operations Manager (Sunshine, VIC, AU)
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Mesh Manufacturing, this key site leadership role is based at our Sunshine, Victoria site. Due to the current leader being seconded to a key internal project, this role is max term position through to the end of December 2025. The role will see you responsible for the day-to-day leadership and delivery of short and long-term strategies in line with our Victorian Mesh Manufacturing Objectives.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Providing site leadership in the form of active promotion of Health and Safety behaviours and initiatives, coaching and developing your leadership group to build theirs and their teams capability, and the maintenance of key union based relationships
- Setting KPIs for delivery across the operations area and developing recommendations to facilitate achievement of these performance targets for the site
- Contribution to the development of the regular operational improvement plans aligned with InfraBuild Mesh Manufacturing State priorities; and,
- Development and implementation of strategic action plans with a focus on continuous improvement.

About your experience
Our ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a continuous improvement mindset and capable of leading a team to drive operational efficiencies.
Other qualities include:
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and managing manufacturing or industrial assets
- Ideally from an operational background and lean manufacturing experience
- Budget, cost control and optimisation experience
- Sound understanding of process flow, manufacturing methodologies and improvement processes; and,
- An interest in promoting a collaborative culture.

InfraBuild’s Steel Manufacturing business unit operates world-class state-of-the-art Steelmaking facilities in Sydney, Newcastle & Melbourne. Operating two electric arc furnaces, four rod and bar rolling mills and three mesh manufacturing sites, we use local materials to produce high quality steel products. We supply a range of products to steel distributors nationally, whilst building on our proud traditions of technical excellence and team safety.
