Operations Manager Processing (4108, QLD, AU)
About the role
As the Operations Manager – Processing, you will drive operational excellence and efficiency by providing leadership for positive change and building a performance oriented culture within site processing and distribution team.
The role also supports other Brisbane Metro locations and oversees a comprehensive suite of processing equipment including cut and drill beam lines, coping line, plate profiler, and various automatic bandsaws.
You are also responsible for:

Ensuring the processing operations meet production schedule, quality, productivity, and efficiency targets daily.

Ensuring the warehouse operations perform to maximum efficiency and achieve specified loading/unloading requirements daily.

The cost effectiveness of the overall site operations and ensuring that budget is achieved.

The health and safety of all employees within the warehouse operations while driving continuous improvements in safety standards.

Ensuring customer satisfaction through meeting our delivery and quality promise to the customer.
About your experience
Our ideal candidate will possess strong safety leadership experience & have good problem-solving skills with the ability to self-manage while overseeing a large team in order to drive success.
You will also have:

Production engineering background.
-
Relevant tertiary qualifications preferred.
-
Demonstrated leadership (preferably in a warehousing and production environment), communication stakeholder influencing, change and relationship management skills.

Supply chain experience and/or understanding of linkages to operations.
-
Exposure to Safety Systems, SAP APO module & SQL knowledge.
-
Supplier relationship and KPI management experience.
-
Reporting experience specific to different levels of hierarchy.

Project management knowledge.

High level of Microsoft Office capability (incl. MS Excel, Word, Access)

Knowledge of Steel Industry and Products (desirable).
