National Safety Manager (Newcastle, NSW, AU)
About the role
As our National Safety Manager you will be in a Lead role and the key Safety support to line management. Reporting directly to the General Manager of Infrabuild Wire, you will take ownership of safety initiatives, safety reporting and the overall safety system management. This role will be based in Newcastle with occasional travel to our Geelong site as needed.
This role will see you:
- Develop the InfraBuild Wire safety strategies in line with the wider Safety Plan
- Ensure the ongoing compliance for safety across the Newcastle and Geelong sites
- Develop and deliver business specific Safety initiatives
- Mentor and support Safety professionals, providing strategic leadership and producing tangible outcomes.
- Utilise Safety systems to drive continuous improvement in our people and processes
- Provide analysis of data in relation to safety plan and safety progress
About your experience
You will have experience within a large-scale manufacturing, or heavy industry operation and looking for your next step in your career. You are team oriented with a focus on people management, driving safety standards and development of your team.
You will also have;
- Leadership skills and experience within a Heavy Manufacturing or Steel Industry environment
- Demonstrated experience in a similar Safety Management role
- Lead Auditor Training
- Cert IV in Work health and safety or tertiary qualification in Safety will be highly regarded
- Ideally a Registered Safety Professional
- Strong commitment to safety and ability to implement safety and training systems
- Ability to problem solve and manage competing priorities
- Strong influencing ability and advanced stakeholder management skills
- Solid understanding of manufacturing systems and processes
