Mechanical Process Technician (Whyalla, SA, AU)
About the role
Our mining operation is seeking to appoint a Mechanical Process Technicians. The positions will report to the relevant Shift Team Leader, working an appealing roster – 12 hour dayshift/nightshift roster, equal time.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing planned preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure the condition and productive capacity of the Plant assets meets targets and delivers sustainable operations
- Demonstrate ability to identify faults through the use of fault finding techniques with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems
- Correctly operate the plant and equipment to ensure the condition and productive capacity of the Plant assets meets targets and delivers sustainable operations
- Working in a professional, timely and safe manner following all SIMEC Mining’s standards and procedures
About your experience
To be successful in the role you will be a self-starter with the drive to complete any task you are given. This role will challenge and reward you; it will see you work in a strong team with a focus on safety performance and customer satisfaction.
- Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering – ESSENTIAL
- Previous experience in similar roles in heavy industry or manufacturing experience would be desirable
- Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets desirable but not essential
- Experience with conveyor belts, bearings, gear boxes, lubrication, alignment and fitting would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
