Master Data and SAP SD Specialist (Newcastle, NSW, AU)

About the role

As our SAP SD Specialist your core focus is on optimising business performance through establishing and maintaining SAP pricing, material and customer master data to support accuracy and timeliness in sales order entry, delivery and invoicing of product.

This role reports into the Transformation Lead: Systems and Process Modernisation at our InfraBuild Wire Newcastle site with no direct reports.

Other accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating and maintaining master data to set standards in various systems for Customer, delivery points, Materials, GS1 standards, Market offer (transit times, MOQ’s and MRQ’s, transport modes & routes, Export, invoice, and Credit Management.)

  • Creating and maintaining master data in Everest (CRM) for Customers and Materials (aligned to SAP)

  • Overseeing & governance of the maintenance and administration of new and existing pricing agreements.

  • Supporting the digital Strategy by providing data, back-end capability and solutions to resolve issues that arise

  • Contributing and participating in Supply Chain strategy, policy, principles development and suggesting system developments as part of the Supply Chain network.

  • Providing data and information from various systems as required to support Customer Service, Finance as well as internal and external Sales & Marketing team requirements.

  • Sharing system functionality and business process knowledge/ understanding to colleagues to allow them to increase their individual effectiveness within their given roles and functional remit

  • Support and comply with InfraBuild’s Safety policies, protocols, initiatives and participate in safety meetings.

About your experience

You are looking for your next step in your career, while having previously worked in either a large-scale commercial, manufacturing, or heavy industry operation.


You are team oriented but also independent and objective in your approach, have a high attention for detail with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines. 

  • CERT IV or above Qualifications in Information Technology (IT) OR commensurate experience

  • High level of analytical capability and advanced Excel skills

  • SAP – Master Data experience and SD process exposure: pricing, materials and customer (version ECC 6)

  • Previous experience providing SAP Support (including developing and delivering training).

  • EDI and B2B experience within SAP

  • Experience in change management and influencing others to deliver outcomes

  • Previous exposure to SAP upgrades

  • Willingness to challenge requests and own the systems

  • Naturally curious and desire to test process and understand

  • Ability to prioritise in order to meet deadlines
