Management Accountant (Newcastle, NSW, AU)
About the role
The Management Accountant will work with a collaborative team of analysts and finance professionals based in our Mayfield office to provide divisional support across accounting, budgeting, and forecasting to meet the businesses periodic reporting requirements within the Wire business.
Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, the key responsibilities of the role include:
- Work closely with the members of the commercial team to support Ad-hoc projects, End of month close and Budget / Forecast processes
- Management of Rebates including payments to customers, accruals, and reporting.
- Supporting the business with governance processes and procedures
- Assisting in the preparation of business case analysis to support key business
- Ensure accuracy of the monthly rebate payments and process ad-hoc settlements as approved by the sales team
- Maximize efficiency to focus attention on business partnering and continuous improvement
About your experience
We are looking for someone enjoys working in a team environment and has the ability to adapt to changing structures, processes, information and/or technologies. You will build relationships with key stakeholders, and to motivate and influence the behaviour and actions of others to achieve the desired business outcomes.
You will also have:
- Tertiary qualified in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills and eagerness to learn
- Experience within a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment highly regarded
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team while managing competing priorities
- Experience with Power BI/SAP an added advantage
- Advanced Excel modelling skills
