Maintenance Planner (Hemmant, QLD, AU)
About the role
As a Maintenance Planner, you will focus on planning and scheduling maintenance activities. You will help to improve the reliability and productivity of existing equipment by providing a cost-effective preventative and breakdown maintenance service that meets the current and future needs of the business. This role is predominately day shift but requires some flexibility to work on shift when required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and track planning and scheduling of preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Maintenance contractor engagement and management
- Initiate the repair and/or purchase of spares & monitor inventory to maintain equipment reliability and minimise holding costs
- Document administration and Maintenance Management System Reporting
- Able to discuss and negotiate on quotes required for repair of damaged parts/equipment
- Arrange work permits (JSA, WSP’s, safety documents) for maintenance activities and contractors
About your experience
You are a self-driven professional who values safety, efficiency and leads by example. Your background in equipment maintenance, preventative maintenance and leading a team within the scrap or other heavy industry will see you excel in this role.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Prior Maintenance Planning/Maintenance Supervisor experience
- Mechanical knowledge with Trade background or Tertiary Qualifications desirable
- Forklift license
- Effective communication skills and ability to deliver clear instructions
- Proficient computer skills and experience using MS Excel and other computer maintenance management system (preferably SAP)
- Previous experience in scrap or heavy industrial plant environment is desirable
- Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong safety and customer focus
