Logistics Coordinator (Wetherill Park, NSW, AU)

About the role

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the day-to-day logistics and distribution operations for deliveries for the Sydney Distribution business, ensuring they are carried out within set timeframes and in accordance with customer requirements. 
This role is Monday to Friday 12pm – 8pm.

Key responsibilities:

  • Determine loads and ensure they are executed in accordance with delivery plans
  • Ensure loads comply with vehicle load regulations and requirements
  • Conduct load restraint audits and checks
  • Support DIFOT results through the management of priorities for deliveries and ensuring special requirements and requests are actioned
  • Prepare drivers load summary dockets alongside preparing and managing truck schedules
  • Monitor site freight costs (Inbound & Outbound)
  • Contribute to regional freight planning improvement initiatives.
     

About your experience

We are looking for a proactive individual with an ability to problem solve and make decisions. This person will enjoy working as part of a team, be highly organised, have strong communication skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

 

You also have:

  • Experience in allocating a varied fleet of vehicles
  • Knowledge of the building and construction industry, specifically regarding steel deliveries
  • SAP knowledge, specifically the logistics module
  • Proficient in computer systems
  • Steel product knowledge (re: dimensions, typical uses, etc) advantageous
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of vehicle types, capacity, specifications, load configuration and load restraint.
