HR Business Partner (Brisbane, QLD, AU)

About the role

Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a HR Business Partner to join our team in Brisbane, reporting to the National HR Manager for Steel & Tube. As a Business Partner, you will execute the HR Business plan and collaborate closely with the business leadership team and the broader HR community.

This role involves travel to our sites in Brisbane, North Queensland, Central Queensland, and East Coast branches.

You will be required to:

  • Work closely with the leadership team to execute HR strategies
  • Provide operational HR support and guidance to leaders and employees
  • Support managers and the recruitment team as well as work on retaining, succession and onboarding strategies
  • Participate in and provide guidance around performance management, and create developmental programs
  • Foster strong relationships and deliver HR support and advice across the business; answering queries related to HR policies
  • Build and foster positive working relationships with unions
  • Provide advice on Enterprise Agreement content
  • Provide support and participate in strategic projects and HR business deliverables
  • Assist with maintaining employee records

You have strong business acumen and think strategically with the below experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or related disciplines
  • Exposure to an industrial or unionised environment in manufacturing or a similar heavy industry
  • Experience as an HR Business Partner supporting multiple sites and a large stakeholder base
  • Knowledge of labour laws and risk management practices
  • Proficient in HRIS and HR data analytics
  • Effective change management skills and a ‘hands on’ practical approach to HR
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and work with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to build a positive organisational culture and enhance employee engagement
