Electrical Supervisor (Sydney, NSW, AU)

About the role

You will be responsible for running the electrical maintenance team and leading up to 12 direct reports. You have the opportunity to become the subject matter expert for all electrical equipment and manage the Meltshop electrical maintenance activities by embedding safe work practices and driving improvement in plant reliability.
 

Key responsibilities for this role include:
 

  • Leading the electrical maintenance team and overseeing their development, training, payroll etc.

  • Execute planned electrical maintenance tasks like electrical inspection of switch gears, power cable works

  • Provide technical support to the electrical team in fault finding and analysis of complex problems to prevent interruptions to operation or plant shutdown

  • Work with the leading hands and help them to plan the jobs and get the work done

  • Identify the root causes of plant and equipment breakdowns and implement countermeasures

  • Contribute to maintenance budgeting and management of costs to achieve the maintenance budget outcome

  • Responsible for the safe and reliable operation of all the electrical equipment within the Sydney meltshop

You are someone who values teamwork, safety, continuous improvement and has a strong desire to operate at a fast pace to ensure the team succeeds. You will lead the drive towards achieving maintenance ‘best practice’ and world class asset availability.
 

To be successful in this role, you will have:
 

  • Experience in people leadership and people management is essential

  • Electrical Supervisors or Electrical Leaders ticket or licence is good to have

  • Experience in hands-on industrial electrical work

  • Background in manufacturing or heavy industry is desirable but not essential

  • Ability to solve problems and work in and lead teams
