Electrical Plant Engineer (Sydney, NSW, AU)

About the role

You will be the technical leader in electrical engineering and provide coordination between the maintenance and cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for the maintenance of LV & HV electrical systems in compliance with the safety codes, design standards and regulations.
 

Key responsibilities for this role include:
 

  • Lead in the technical analysis, provide technical support to the electrical maintenance team and resolutions of process and equipment problems

  • Contribute to the investigation, fault finding and analysis of complex electrical equipment problems and failures, identification of root causes and implementation of permanent countermeasures

  • Solve equipment failures or repetitive electrical failures

  • Work around low and high voltage of 22KV and 132KV

  • Implement cost-effective solutions to address electrical systems reliability issues

  • Drive continuing improvement initiatives to improve plant’s operation and efficiency

  • Ensure all hazards safety events are reported and investigated appropriately and in a timely manner and that suitable actions are established

About your experience

You are someone who values teamwork, safety, continuous improvement and has a strong desire to operate at a fast pace to ensure the team succeeds.
 

To be successful in this role, you will have:
 

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering is essential

  • Expert in HV and with various equipment and machinery

  • Background in power distribution or factory or manufacturing or heavy industry is desirable

  • Excellent communication and people skills

  • Excellent problem solving ability

InfraBuild’s Steel Manufacturing business unit operates world-class state-of-the-art Steelmaking facilities in Sydney, Newcastle & Melbourne. Operating two electric arc furnaces and four rod and bar rolling mills we use local materials to produce high quality steel products.
